The greenery trend in 2017 continues to get bigger and bolder — literally. The leaves are getting bigger and deeper with tropical plants taking over our Instagram and Pinterest feeds. But you don’t have to travel to achieve this down-south golden glow. Just ask your planner and florist for their creative takes on the trend and see what you come up with.

For Inga Avedyan, wedding and fashion photographer and cinematographer, the tropical leaves set the stage for a decadent theme. As creative director for this shoot, Inga brought in florist Katie Fritz of Serpent Botanical to create the moody backdrop. She paired thick ferns with pops of mustard yellow and fiery orange.

Models from Lizbell Agency wore four gowns from Rituals of Love, the recently opened boutique in Gastown. While hair and makeup artist Katrina Wrobel from The Artistry Collective kept their looks minimal and clean, she added a coppery hue on their eyelids and a fresh highlight on their cheekbones. To cap the look, Inga brought in sparkling crowns from Olivia the Wolf. Jewels of the tropics, indeed!
