Recently we did a shoot with a new arrival on Vancouver’s bridal market , Truvelle Bridal’s sister company, Laudae. This was shot on location at The Birds & The Beets in Gastown by Noah Asanias of The Day I Met. We were brought on as hair stylist and makeup artist to create on our model, Kelly, a worn in smokey eye using matte brown cream shadows and lots of mascara. On Kelly’s skin we kept things glowy with highlights on the cheekbones, cupids bow and nose. To add some depth to the makeup look we added in contour on the cheek and topped it off with lots of clear gloss on the lips. The hair was textured waves that we created by first using a large barrel to curl the hair and a straightener at the ends. Throughout the night as the lighting changed we amped up the highlight on the skin and kept brushing out and backcombing the hair. The direction was for it to look sultry but effortless, which Kelly pulled off amazingly.
